method

Greetje Mulder graduated. From the Social Academy in 1980 and from the Minerva Art Academy in 1992 (autonomous drawing and painting).
She lives and works in the Biotoop in Haren (near Groningen, the Netherlands).
She makes ‘writings’, assemblages and figurative drawings.
Her ‘writings’ are handwritten texts strung together on cardboard that form calm rhythms and patterns.
The figuration has disappeared.
It is purely about the handwriting, the cadence, the rhythm of the writing.
This writing has an orderly effect, radiates harmony.
A resting place for our eyes and brains in a world that has drifted away and is restless.
Her assemblages consist of a colorful collection of discarded objects.
By making new combinations of these ‘touching things’, they not only get a second chance, but they also form a new story.
Like film scenes from her memory, she captures images that move her in her drawings, such as memories of her childhood, or events from later that have stayed with her.
She is mainly concerned with the inner world, the psyche of man.
In her attractive studio she simultaneously works on these three parts of her work.
Together they form Greetje Mulder’s ‘world’.
